It seemed, a few years back, brain-training apps were all the craze. And sure, anything that gets you exercising those neurons has got to be better than nothing. And while regular physical exercise does have a positive impact on your mental well-being, what if you want to actually try to train your brain? That’s where Mendi comes in.
At a physical level, the Mendi is a headband that pop on the old noggin, pair it up to your phone (via bluetooth) and then you fire up the associated app. So, how is it that the device works? Well, you’ve got something known as neurofeedback going on here. In short, the headband is picking up on those brainwaves, and translating them into effects in the app. When you see those, you’re able to train your brain to react and adjust, further strengthening it.
Mendi is claiming that using the device, just 2-3 times per week for 10 minutes a session, will result in improvements in your mind. What sort of improvements? Glad you asked. Mendi claims you can improve your mental well-being (critical these days), better performance, and overall health.
Now, if you’re like me, you’re viewing this with more than just a few grains of salt. Or, to put it plainly, it can sound like a whole lot of mumbo-jumbo. Well, while the Kickstarter is running (earlybird pricing starts at $299), we’ve actually got a review unit in, and will be testing it out. The campaign itself is fully funded and runs until May 15th (delivery is anticipated for August 2020). So, be on the lookout for that full review prior to the campaign closing out, and hopefully we’ll be able to tell if the Mendi is something we’d recommend. campaign page
