Your phone is disgusting. Wash it.

Your phone. It goes in your pockets. It’s touched by your disgusting meat-paws you call hands. You probably take it with you to the toilet, just as your ancestors did with magazines. And then you set it on your table as you eat. With your hands. Wash your damn hands, and clean your phone. … But how?

A couple of ways. If you’re a heathen, you can use a Clorox/Lysol/store-brand disinfecting wipe and wipe down your phone regularly.

Yum!

But that sounds pretty wasteful, right? You buy a bucket of wipes, you wipe things down, and then you… what, throw them out? Filling landfills of cloth-like wipes?

Or maybe you’d listen to AT&T’s advice, where they say, “Spray a nonabrasive or alcohol-based (70% isopropyl) disinfectant directly on a soft lint-free cloth and wipe down your device while it is powered down and unplugged.”

Except, Apple might tell you that spraying liquid in the openings of your phone is a bad idea.

There is an answer: If you got a water-resistant case, you could just spray it with 70% alcohol, without worry. Or even, wash it with soap and water when you wash your wizened-meat-claws hands.

So the question: who am I gonna recommend as a waterproof case? The first answer that comes to mind has always been Catalyst. They’ve been doing these waterproof cases since 2010.

What they offer are cases that can protect an iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and even your AirPods case. Prices range from $25 for something like a cover for the AirPods case, to as much as $170 for the super big iPad Pro case.

seriously, AirPods.

But I wasn’t really talking about all those devices, even though you should clean them, too, you disgusting, germ-ridden, plague-carrying human.

Your phone. You interact with it all the time. for $69-98 USD, you can get a waterproof case from Catalyst, good for 33ft depth in the water, or 2 meters drop protection. And you can wipe it down with alcohol. If you want to get one of these waterproof cases, you can order from catalystcase.com.
