Now Funding(ish): Pantera Pico PC

Computers can cover a wide variety of use cases. Sure, it’s the hardware-heavy behemoths that get all the attention (for the games the play, the video that can edit, and so on) but there’s other paths you can take, particularly if you just want a small media computer, or maybe an inexpensive Windows or Linux machine. Enter the Pantera Pico PC.

So, first things first. We say it’s “Now funding(ish)” because the Pantera Pico PC was already fully funded on Kickstarter, and now it’s running on Indiegogo as an “In Demand” campaign, basically letting you get in on the earlier campaign before they start shipping stuff out. Second things second, this is NOT a computer you’ll be storming the cemetary gates with (or whatever setting your favorite AAA title game has), but for lighter-weight games? You should be ok (you can see the full specs below).

Where I think the Pantera Pico PC could be handy is in a spot you want a second computer, you just need a simple machine to do some basic Access database builds, or to hook into your flatscreen to build yourself a media box. I mean, with pricing starting at $159 for a box that comes with Windows (and is Win11 compatible) or Linux? There’s a lot of uses you could come up with. Even if you “load up” the machine, pricing tops out at $259 for an 8 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD configuration, which again, can set you up to do a lot of stuff.
