For those who grew up with the Detroit Tigers in the 1980s (yes, that would be me, sitting in the old Tiger Stadium), Kirk Gibson is a very familiar name. In 2015, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and started up a foundation to raise funds and awareness. Now, they’ve partnered with Born in Detroit to come up with a special line of apparel.
For this, you’ve got the Team 23 (23 was Gibson’s number with the Tigers, and in college) logo showing up, along with the Born in Detroit logo. Pretty clean and simple, and I like the fact that you’ve got the Tigers colors showing up in the logo as well.
This is a pretty short-lived run, all for raising funds for the foundation. Pricing looks to run from $15 – $50, depending on what you order. After May 10, though, you can’t order it. So, if you’re interested, move fast, and head on over to kirkgibsonfoundation.org
