This feature is especially handy when you need to share a QR code or keep a digital copy of a receipt. The good news is that there are several ways to do this, irrespective of the iPhone model you own. You can even use the Apple logo on the back of your phone to capture your screen.
For those using the latest iPhones without a home button, taking a screenshot is as simple as pressing the volume up and power buttons simultaneously. A preview of your screenshot will then appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. You can either click on it to open the image or locate it later in your Screenshots folder within the Photos app.
If you’re using the iPhone SE, Apple’s most affordable offering that still features a home button, the process is slightly different. You’ll need to hold down the home button and the power button at the same time to capture a screenshot. A small preview will then appear on your display, and you can find the image later in the Photos app. For those missing the physical home button on newer iPhone models, Apple’s AssistiveTouch feature offers a solution.
This feature provides a virtual home button on your screen that you can use to take a screenshot. To activate it, navigate to Settings, select Accessibility, and then Touch. Toggle AssistiveTouch on and select either Double or Triple Tap. These gestures will enable you to take a screenshot by tapping the virtual home button two or three times. If you need to capture an entire webpage, you can take a scrolling screenshot.
Press the power and volume up buttons to take a screenshot, then tap the preview to open the editor. Select Full Page and then edit the image as you wish. As a bonus, iPhones, like Google Pixel phones, have a back-tap feature that can be used to take a screenshot. Simply go into your accessibility settings, select Touch, and then Back Tap. Choose Double or Triple Tap and select the action (screenshot) you want to associate with that gesture.
