TikTok recently launched their own in-house music distribution and marketing platform, which has been dubbed SoundOn. The feature is free to use and for musicians to upload songs too, and transaction fees will be waived for its first year. After that, TikTok will collect a 10% fee.
The system allows musicians to retain all royalties, and offers promotional, development as well as audience insight tools to expose their music to a larger audience.
