Party of One First Aid Kit: in review

Party of One First Aid Kit

Last summer, we brought you word (seen here) about a massive, all-in-one first aid kit. Kits like those are handy to have in your trunk, as they’re compact and have a lot of things inside that are helpful. If you’re headed off for a hike in the woods, though, or just want something in your work bag, a kit like that is simply too big. That’s where the Party of One First Aid Kit comes in.

A survival kit?

To be sure, that’s what the Party of One First Aid Kit is labelled as. For me, though, it’s a first aid kit. They do include a few extras that first aid kits wouldn’t normally have (a razor blade and waterproof matches), but that’s not quite enough for me to consider it a survival kit. There’s no whistle, shelter building stuff, or anything like that.

No, a first aid kit

That’s a minor issue, how they’re marketing it. As a first aid kit – especially if you’re carrying this while out in the woods – having the matches may be handy some day. The primary use for the Party of One First Aid Kit is going to be for all of the other components inside. In the photo above, you can see all of what is included.

You’ve got antiseptic wipes (to clean a cut), antibiotic ointment (to help keep infection away), and then a variety of bandages to cover up that injury, keeping it dry, clean, and protected. In short, everything you need to treat a minor injury.

The Party of One First Aid Kit case

We also need to talk about the zipper case that the Party of One First Aid Kit comes in. For one, it keeps things neatly organized, and is in a bright orange, making it easy to spot in your bag. When it’s unzipped, it lays flat, allowing you to easily find what you need, as well as giving you a surface to set the supplies on.

There is some extra room if you need to add something in, or want more bandages in there, say. On the reverse side, there’s an external pocket, so you’ve got more space to pop something in. There’s also a loop at the top of the bag, which looks perfect to put a clip through so you could hook this onto the outside of your bag, making it even easier to find.

Wrapping things up

To be sure, the bandages in the Party of One First Aid Kit are not going to be the high-end, stretchy fabric ones. But you could add those in later if you wanted to. Coming in at $11, this is a quick way to add basic necessities to your bag that will help you out in a pinch, and then get you home. We really like the bag that it comes in, and we feel that it will last a long time, allowing you to customize the contents over time as you see fit. You can get the details on this kit over at TriKits.com, Walmart, or Amazon.
