In Review: Timberland TB9318 Sunglasses

No matter what time of year it is, there’s always a reason to have a good pair of sunglasses on. Sure, they can be a style statement, but I prefer them more to help me not have to squint in the glare, as well as (hopefully) help protect the ol’ eyeballs from the sun. One pair we’ve been spending time with are the Timberland TB9318 Sunglasses.

Fitment

For me, the trickiest thing with any pair of sunglasses can be the fit. Why? Well, I’ve got a big noggin, so overall width, and just how long the arms are, can make or break a pair. The specs are down below, but you can also see from the photos, these fit me pleasingly well.

The Lenses

These days, I’m all about polarized lenses. Sure, they can cause some issues looking at displays in a car, but just how well it cuts down the glare – as well as letting you see stuff under water – make them a must-have for me. What’s interesting with the lenses on the Timberland TB9318 Sunglasses is that they have a gradient. They’re darker at the top, and lighten as you near the bottom. This means it’s much easier – as compared to a non-gradient tint – to read something without having to take your sunglasses off.

What’s it like wearing them?

When we headed off for an extended vacation, the Timberland TB9318 Sunglasses are the only sunglasses that I brought with me. I wore them to the beach, at the pool, off to the city, and so on. Basically, for everything. They worked perfectly for me on the sunny days, and the frames were sturdy enough to pop up on top of my head when we’d walk inside somewhere. With the all-plastic frames, they’re also a fairly light pair, so they weren’t uncomfortable on the nose or ears, even when wearing them for hours on end.

How to get a set of your own?

Normally, we’d just point you directly to the brand in question, right? Well, for whatever reason, Timberland doesn’t actually show them on their site. We did find them over at Eyeons, where the’ve got them for a touch over $82, which is a tidy discount from the $130 MSRP. eyeons.com
