CES 2024: Dangbei

Hey, you remember Dangbei, right? We reviewed the Emotn N1 Projector from them (you can see that here). Well, they’re not resting on their laurels, and they’ve got a brand-new laser projector that they’re showing off at CES.

As you can see from that image up top, the new Dangbei Atom is a VERY compact projector, that should have plenty of brightness and throw courtesy of the laser tucked away in the case. At first glance, the projector looks like a small form factor desktop PC, and then you realize that the remote next to it is actually longer than the depth of the projector. Here’s what they’re saying about it:

As Dangbei’s first Google TV™ laser projector with built-in Netflix, the Dangbei Atom stands out as one of the industry’s first smart projectors to further upgrade the content ecosystem. Leveraging Google TV’s content-first UI, it integrates diverse app content and personalized recommendations, streamlining the search for preferred shows. Google TV’s features, including Watchlist, Multiple Profiles, Google Assistant, and Chromecast built-in, enhance the overall family entertainment experience, making the Atom’s big screen entertainment more accessible, intelligent, and user-friendly.

With a brightness figure of up to 1200 ISO Lumens, the Dangbei Atom could well be the brightest projector on the market compared with other low form factor home cinema projectors. It deviates from the conventional expectation of high-brightness laser projectors typically being bulky in design.

The Dangbei Atom will be available for $899.99, and they’re planning a $150-off coupon when it’s available for purchase; it should be on Amazon later this month, or in early February. Also, if you’re at the show, you’ll also be able to check out the Dangbei Mars Pro 2 and X5 Ultra projectors, which are 4K laser projectors, as well as their Danbei PadGo, which is a 27″ tablet that comes on a stand, making it a very movable display to take around the house. dangbei.com
