WhatsApp to allow no compression photo transmission

WhatsApp may soon allow users to send photos in their original quality without, compression. This potential feature, which was discovered in the latest beta version of the Android app, was reported by WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates. The website stated that a new option, known as “Photo quality,” was found within the drawing tool header, and that this feature is currently under development.

Currently, WhatsApp allows users to select between “automatic,” “best quality,” and “data saver” options when sending images. However, regardless of the option selected, images are still compressed to provide faster data transfer and take up less storage space. The new feature, if implemented, would eliminate this compression and allow users to send images in their original size and resolution.

It is worth noting that this feature is still in development and has not yet been made available to beta testers. Additionally, there is no information on whether this feature will also extend to videos sent on the platform. However, there is a workaround that allows users to avoid WhatsApp’s compression by changing the file’s extension and sending it as a document rather than an image or video. There is currently no release timeline for this feature.
