The LEGO Liebherr Crawler Crane is definitely not on sale

In the world of LEGO enthusiasts, releasing a new Technic set is always cause for excitement. But the latest offering from the Danish toy company has taken things to a whole new level. Introducing the Liebherr Crawler Crane, a jaw-dropping masterpiece that not only challenges builders with its intricate design but also comes with a $700 price tag that will make even the most seasoned collectors do a double take.

With a staggering 2,883 pieces, this behemoth of a set is not for the faint of heart. Inspired by the real-life Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane, this LEGO replica stands at an impressive 39 inches tall when fully assembled. But it’s not just its size that sets it apart. The attention to detail is truly remarkable, with features like a working boom, winch, and tracks that mimic the movements of the actual crane. However, all this craftsmanship comes at a cost.

Interestingly, the Crawler has multiple “load-sensing features” and counterweights and also includes six electric motors and controllers to let you lift and drop relatively heavy LEGO loads.

While building a working crane in LEGO isn’t everyone’s dream activity, it’s clear from LEGO’s decision to launch multiple construction products including a massive bucket excavator and a lovely Cat D11 Bulldozer. Clearly, real engineers love shrunken-down building hardware.
