The future (of being on hold) is bright

Just ran across this article over at Engadget, and thought the promise was too good not to talk about. We all have our own levels of tolerance and patience when it comes to automated phone trees and the dreaded “Please hold, your call…” message. What if you didn’t have to sit and listen to the muzak?

This is all rumor based on conjecture, but it seems like, when the Pixel 4 is released, there may be a feature built in that allows the phone to handle the on-hold duties for you, only dropping you back to your call when a live human picks up. If this becomes reality, I think it will be a small – but tremendous – step forward to those navigating the myriad automated call trees out there. For all the details, check out the video and article over at Engdaget.
