Bluesound Node X is ready for HiRes streaming

Most of the time, we’re focused on the sound that we’re delivering to our ears – and just our ears. But what if you want to pump sound through a space? You could just crank up the volume, we suppose. Or you could go with a multi-room setup. A brand that we’ve just become aware of, Bluesound, has been doing that for a decade now, and have a new Bluesound Node X ready to stream wherever you want to put sound.

What is it?

The Bluesound Node X is – at it’s core – a very specialized compact computer that’s built to do one thing – connect to the internet, pull in streaming audio, and then push it out to your speakers and sound system. In other words, instead of trying to figure out how to hook your phone into your stereo setup, you can instead use this. And, yes, it has it’s own inputs as well, so you can plug even more things in.

What do we like about it?

We really like the fact that, while the Bluesound Node X is built to connect into the Bluesound wireless speakers (ergo, the multi-room sound fill from a single device), it will also easily hook into your existing sound system. So there’s no need to rip everything out and start from scratch. With this device, you can start your upgrade path, and then over time add in other Bluesound components as your budget allows.

How do I get it?

Well, friends, you take your $750 and head on over to Bluesound, and you too can have one in your media center. Want to add some speakers in the mix as well? Looks like those start $299 (and there are a few other, more expensive, options) to spread the sound throughout your house. bluesound.com
