If you’re into Counter Strike: Global Offensive, you’re no doubt aware of the Neo Noir skins that have been released for the game. If you’ve been liking what you’ve been seeing there, at least in terms of the color palette (and perhaps the art style to some degree), these new SteelSeries accessories may just be what you’re looking for.
For this release, SteelSeries worked with the artists Blazer and Donschi to come up with a design that draws inspiration from the game, as well as anime. You can see the base artwork that they came up with just above here on the mousepad. That art then got applied across more than a few more of the items in the SteelSeries catalog:
- Prime Mouse: Neo Noir Edition ($69.99): Featuring the chaotic energy of the Neo Noir CS: GO skin, the Prime Pro Series mouse was co-developed with over 100 of the world’s leading competitive esports players. Equipped with Prestige optical magnetic switches – a first in esports – the unique Prime design is built to last 5x longer and harness the power of light to provide lightning-fast response times. The revolutionary switches utilize a magnetic core to ensure that the 100 millionth click feels just as crispy as the very first. A battle-tested shape delivers sustained comfort at the highest levels of play and a lightweight form factor weighs in at only 69g to reduce hand fatigue when lifted. The TrueMove Pro sensor provides esports pro performance, and onboard customization makes selecting settings easy.

I will say, I’ve never quite understood the RGB mousepads. I mean, I remember before the non-optical days that mousepads were quite the thing to go for, but I’ve not given them a thought since I went optical. Seeing this one here, though, I do kind of get it. I mean, one, you’re getting more glow which is never a bad thing. Second, it’s sort of like the current-day equivalent of a blotter on your desk, giving you that designated space for your keyboard and mouse to live.
I don’t know that this CS:GO Neo Noir version would be the one I’d go for from SteelSeries, but I’m definitely coming around to them. I think the clear winner here are those plates for the headphones. The plain mousepad is a bit more affordable, but these swappable plates on headphones just make sense. They’re a great way to refresh your headset (well, provided you’ve bought into the Arctis Pro line). Just my thoughts, though – check out the full range over at steelseries.com
