Galaxy has releases two new flagship devices, the Note 10 and Note 10+ to great fanfare at a well-attended Unpacked event that looked more like an awards ceremony for particularly good robots.
The devices on display were stunners. The Note 10 and 10+ have 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch display, respectively, USB charging, and – get this – no headphone jack. The front-facing camera appears in a hole punch on the front screen and the OLEDs themselves are striking, wrapping around the front and offering a nice bit of additional real estate.
Both include Samsung’s trademark stylus, a huge differentiator in the Note series when compared to, say, the Plus line of iPhones.
Both models feature have 256GB of storage (no microSD) and the 10+ has an optional 512GB version.
The latest laptop in their stable is the Galaxy Book S, a thin and light laptop running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx mobile chip. Samsung claims 23 hours on a charge. It runs Windows 10 and will cost $999 when it goes to market later this year.
Most interestingly, these devices leaked like a sieve over the last few days, allowing the world to see them long before launch. These aren’t he olden days of mobile when a leak of this caliber could stop the new cycle. The times, as they say, are changing.
One more thing? There’s a dongle.
