In an era of $999 laptops a $230 Chromebook isn’t very big news. But the fact that you get a solid, usable laptop with all the Google goodies is an exciting prospect.
The new Chromebook 4 has a 11.6? screen and weighs 2.6 pounds and the 4+ has a 15.6? screen and weighs 3.75 pounds.
From the release:
The Chromebook 4 and Chromebook 4+ also feature extended battery life, lasting 12.5 and 10.5 hours, respectively. So whether you?re working, web-surfing, studying, or streaming, you can power through your day, without worrying about bringing along a charger.
With up to 64GB storage, 6GB memory, and a powerful Intel? Celeron? Processor N4000, you can store more, and do more, and do it all faster.
The Chromebook world has gotten quite impressive and devices like this one are my go-to when it comes to setting up machines for non-tech-savvy users. Since it supports nearly every application under the sun, you can get all your browsing and web calling done and, when you need to do something a little fancier, there is always the App Store and online sources.
All in all, a $239 Chromebook is a great deal and, while this is a little blocky and bulky, it sure beats buying a fully-featured laptop for web browsing and Skype.
Do they run Android apps? How well?
And, weird that the larger laptop gets less battery life.
