Remember a little bit back, when we told you about the Tifosi Swank XL, and then went hands-on with a pair? We came away impressed with those lightweight shades, but maybe you want something that’s got even larger coverage, to keep the breeze away from your eyes while you cycle or jog? Then the just-released Tifosi Rail may be what you’re looking for.
Between just the overall size of these lenses (or actually, lens, since it’s a single piece) and how they flare out and curve back means you’re getting a lot more protection for your eyes. Both in terms of the wind getting in, and even keeping out the sun. Myself, I’ve never quite considered shades of this shape, but something about that retro 80s vibe is calling out to me.
Given that there’s really no frame to these, it shouldn’t be a surprise that they weigh just 32g. Which means once they’re on your face, you’re not likely to notice them there. And with those hydrophilic rubber bits on the ear and nose pieces, they aren’t going to slip and bounce around, no matter how sweaty your workout gets you.
I’m not sure that the Tifosi Rail are the sunglasses you grab for just heading out for the day (or maybe that’s just my style preferences), but for working out? These look ideal. Not that I’m the fastest cyclist or jogger out there, but I’ve had more than one occasion where the wind has set my eyes to watering.
