Razer announces the BlackWidow V4, a 75% gaming keyboard with serious power

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% is the latest addition to Razer’s lineup of gaming keyboards, offering a balance of wireless flexibility and customization. Designed for those who want a compact yet powerful keyboard, it includes features aimed at improving user control and gaming experience.

This keyboard features Razer HyperSpeed Wireless and HyperPolling technology, allowing a response rate of up to 4K Hz. These enhancements are intended to reduce latency, making it ideal for competitive gamers. The ability to switch between three Bluetooth devices adds convenience, particularly for multitasking across platforms.

A standout feature is the built-in OLED display and Razer Command Dial. The OLED screen can show system metrics or be customized for various uses like controlling audio or keyboard settings. Paired with the Command Dial, users can fine-tune their setup directly from the keyboard, without needing to go into external software.

Customization is further enhanced by the hot-swappable design, allowing users to switch out mechanical switches based on their preferences. The BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% comes with Razer’s Orange Tactile Switches, but it supports both 3- and 5-pin switches for a tailored typing feel.

To improve comfort, the keyboard also comes with a magnetic leatherette wrist rest, making long gaming sessions more ergonomic. Other details, like the gasket-mounted plate and foam layers inside the keyboard, ensure a quieter, more satisfying typing experience.

Razer Chroma RGB lighting allows for full per-key customization, while the doubleshot PBT keycaps offer durability and optimal shine-through for the backlighting. The keyboard aims to provide a premium look and feel while maintaining high performance.

Priced at $299.99, the BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% is available for pre-order through Razer’s website, with general availability starting on September 24, 2024.
