Pre-order alert: OWC Envoy Pro Mini

USB memory sticks are all but ubiquitous now. Sure, it’s easy to sync something up to cloud storage, but there’s just something nice about having another backup of things in some removable media that you can easily move from device to device, without worrying about cloud sync. If you’ve been stymied by USB-C in that regard, this new release from OWC might help you out. Meet the OWC Envoy Pro Mini.

At it’s heart, the OWC Envoy Pro Mini is not all that different from the thumb drive you already own (though OWC calls it a SSD). It comes in 250GB ($79), 500GB ($109) or 1.0TB ($179) capacities with the USB-A connector we all know. It’s also got a USB-C connector built into the package. This is not some adapter you’ll just misplace. No, it’s part of the aluminum assembly that you can flip the drive around and securely lock it into place.

Basically, the OWC Envoy Pro Mini looks like a solid option, particularly if you need storage on both your laptop and tablet, all wrapped into one device. While these aren’t quite available yet, they are up for pre-order now, with delivery anticipated for sometime in June. Check them out – and order your own if you like – over at macsales.com
