Pre-order alert: Able Carry Thirteen Daybag

Fittingly, we’ve reviewed a number of different backpacks here at Knapsack. While there are different things different folks need, one thing I’ve been consistently impressed by are the sleek exteriors and great interior organization that Able Carry offers. If the 30L Able Carry Max (reviewed here) or 21L Daily Plus (reviewed here) are too big for your carry, you might want to check out the new version of the Able Carry Thirteen Daybag.

What is it?

As you might be able to infer from the name of the bag, the Able Carry Thirteen Daybag comes in at 13L, which is going to make for a very compact carry. Perfect if you’re getting jammed into public transit on the way to the office, or you just don’t want – or need – to carry a whole lot with you during the day. Despite the smaller size, it’s still able to swallow a 14″ laptop, so this looks like a bag that can definitely still be used for work.

What has changed in this new version?

To be fair, we did not review the prior version of the Able Carry Thirteen Daybag. If you’re familiar with it, however, you’re going to notice the following differences:

  • The shoulder strap has been redone to improve fitment
  • The sternum strap is on a swivel, making it easier to use one-handed
  • Reworked closed-cell foam padding to protect your gear, and help the bag retain it’s shape

There’s also all of the pockets and organization that we’ve come to expect from Able Carry:

  • Internal
    • Pen slip
    • Ripstop lining pocket f
    • A soft-touch lining that comfortably fits 11-inch tablets or laptops up to 14 inches.
  • External
    • Tucked back pocket
    • Shoulder strap card slots
    • External bottle pocket

How to get one

Realistically, you need to assess what all you need to carry on your day today, and fit the bag to your needs. If you’ve got that slimmed-down carry, then the Able Carry Thirteen Daybag could prove to be a very capable partner. If you want to get one, they’re currently up for pre-order. The X-Pac versions (black, olive, navy) are $160 and ship later this month, while the black ripstop cordura is going for $125 and ships in December. Both of those prices are on a slight discount from the MSRP, and will come with a rain cover as well. Check it all out over at ablecarry.com
