Now Funding: Sunne Solar Light

I don’t know about you, but in my home, solar-powered (or solar-charging) lights are showing up more and more. The simplicity of throwing a light out on the fenceline that charges up and turns on automatically – either at sunset or via motion detection – is just great. Those have been for the outside of the home – if you’re looking for one to light up the indoors, then the Sunne Solar Light may be of interest.

Now, first things first – the Sunne Solar Light is not as inexpensive as you may have come to expect solar LED lights to be. Specifically, the lowest tier that nets you a light is around $900. So, while price would be a stopper for me picking it up, there’s no denying that it’s a beautifully designed light. Between the single piece of aluminum and the frosted front panel, it certainly looks like something that could have come from Cupertino.

On the reverse side, you’ve got a full slate of solar panels. With the overall dimensions of 155 x 850 x 40mm, you’ve got a good amount of surface area there. And given the pricing, hopefully those are some of the more efficient panels that will top up the 14-hour Li-ion battery without too much fuss.

The campaign for the Sunne Solar Light is running now, at is sitting at about 90% of it’s funding goal, with things closing out on April 2nd. And, even if the light is too pricey for you (and I can’t blame you for that) there are some other lower tiers that allow you to back the project and get some Sunne-adjacent products. campaign page
