Now Funding: 70mai Power Station Tera 1000

Over the past few year, I’ve been paying more attention to giant battery stations. Think of them like the external batteries that you carry to top off your phone, but supersized to the point that it can run a number of devices, up to including laptops, mini fridges, and televisions. Then again, maybe there are just more of them hitting the market a of late. One of the latest is the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000.

So, why would you want or need something like the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000? As I’ve mentioned in prior articles on devices of this sort, they sort of fill that niche that has you prepared in case of an extended power outage at home. Of course, a gas generator can fulfill that need, but then you can’t quite haul that along for, say, a camping trip, could you? Well, ok, you can, but then you’ll have all that noise. Here, you’ve got that silent electron flow.

That is, until you run down the 1000 Wh battery in the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000. At that point, you’ll need to top it off again – either by plugging it into the wall (which enables a 2-hour quick charge), in your car, using a gas generator, or – our favorite for flexibility – via solar panels. As we’ve said, solar panels are governed by their efficiency. Here, their 100W solar panels are rated at a 22% efficiency (you can also hook your own in). If you use the 70mai ones, though, you get two more outputs per panel used (and you can hook up to two into the Tera).

In terms of inputs and outputs, the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000 covers off on all the necessary ones (see the tech specs down below). I also rather appreciate that they’re publishing the battery life (they’re holding out for 1000 charge cycles; no word on if it can be replaced) as well as the efficiency – and technology – of their solar panels. As with most giant batteries of this sort, it’s portable, but not tiny. Think the size of a small cooler. You can get in on the basic 70mai Power Station Tera 1000 for $599, or get a package that adds in the solar panel for $819 – though at that point, we’d go for the two-panel package which is just a touch more at $845. The campaign is running through mid-November, with delivery anticipated for February 2022. Check it all out over at indiegogo.com or 70mai.com

  1. Screwing us around….
No replies to emails to funders . indegogo is part of the theft fest.
I have watched indegogo rob hundreds of people by not taking down many campaigns that were fakes. Check BBB. Indegogo itself is a scam.
This item on indegogo may be one as well.
I paid for this and solar panels months ago. over $800.
no word and it is March.
Sad because I have 4 of t70 mai car video cameras and they are very good and very reasonably priced.
Never again, AFAIK these sites are all scams.
