We like our headphones here at Knapsack. For myself, I’m using headphones daily, to listen to podcasts and music while I develop data solutions, or to get on calls (currently, I’m alternating between the 1More Sonoflow and Sonoflow SE. For my kids, they’ve tended to inherit headphones that I’ve stopped using. If you want to protect their hearing, you’ll be looking at volume-limiting ones. If you want that, and to encourage an interest in building things, then the Kibu Headphones look pretty solid.
Kibu Headphones: what they are
Right out of the gate – these are headphones meant for your kids. That means that they’re going to be sized for smaller noggins. It also means that they’ve thought about the fact that kids are not known to be delicate with their electronics. So, they should hold up over time. And if they don’t? You can get replacement parts to repair them.
This is from the fact that the Kibu Headphones are a kit that you receive and build up. Don’t worry, there isn’t any soldering required here. Still, you can see how things go together, and you’ll easily be able to maintain these over time, or even customize them yourself. And in the mix of all of that, these are volume-limiting, helping to protect your young ones’ ears.
Backing the project
The Kibu Headphones are currently funding over on Kickstarter, with the campaign closing out on May 15, 2024. Earlybird pricing starts at just $49 – quite reasonable for kid-oriented headphones. Shipping is anticipated for July 2024, so these will be here in plenty of time for summertime jams. You can check everything out at the campaign page or kibu.family
