When it’s a summertime weekend, shorts have got to be the go-to lower-body choice for many folks. Particularly if you’re headed outdoors for some camping or hiking, we tend to look for technical materials that can stand up to the outdoors, are light enough to keep us moving and breathable, and offering enough pockets to carry all we need. One pair that seems to meet all those criteria would be the brand-new Mission Workshop Stahl:LT.
What are they?
The Mission Workshop Stahl:LT started life – at least in the design phase – as the Stahl. For this limited version, the LT, they took the fabric used in their Traverse MTB short. What this means is you’re getting all the utility that the Stahl design offers (including six different pockets), along with all of the technical features (4-way stretch, water repellence, wicking and quick drying) that the Traverse offers up.
What we like about them
Basically, the fact that they blended two of their designs in this way. The Stahl looks to be well-thought out, and the Traverse has been getting put to the test with their intended use (mountain biking), which means that this material should be ready for camping, hiking, or even just taking care of yardwork in the backyard. The 10″ inseam should also hit the sweetspot, of being short enough to not impact your range of movement, while long enough you won’t feel like you’re wearing short shorts sitting at the sidewalk cafe later in the day.
How can I get a pair?
Bear in mind, this is – at this point – just a limited run being done for the Mission Workshop Stahl:LT, so we’re not sure how long they’ll be up for sale.
