The French country’s Ministry of Culture recently announced that it is instating a ban on popular English video-game related jargon such as “streamer” and “pro-gamer”.
The move is certainly unexpected, with the choice being supposedly rooted in fear that such terms could in turn act as a “barrier to understanding” for people not knowledgeable on gaming pop-culture.
This ban is thankfully not in place for all French citizens, but the Ministry of Culture published the ban in an official journal, making the bans law for all government workers.
