Well, not that ceiling fans are a new concept. For Dreo, however, it certainly is. We’ve looked at both their tower and pedestal fans, and we’ve got another one in the works for a review. Earlier this month, they introduced the brand-new 44″ and 52″ Dreo Ceiling Fans.
Dreo Ceiling Fans: what we like
The first thing that we really like about the new Dreo Ceiling Fan offerings are the use of a brushless motor. This should make for a more reliable motor over time, as there’s nothing touching to wear out. Along with that new motor, we’ve got some pretty amazing noise specs. They’re claiming that the fan can run at 35 dB, which is truly whisper quiet.
The Dreo Ceiling Fans are also able to be controlled via their included remote (changing speeds, light color temperature, and rotation direction) as well as their smartphone app. This makes it a cinch, and even to be able to controlled from another room.
Finally, it looks like installation should be simple. Rather than needing to get access into the ceiling space to hang a support bracket, the bracket itself mounts onto the electrical box, and supports everything off of that. Then, when it comes time to wire the light it, it’s just a simple connection, and away you go. Though, we presume that replacing that LED light down the road might be, well, not something you can just buy.
Wrapping things up
As we mentioned at the outset, the new Dreo Ceiling Fans are available in both a 44″ (four-blade) or 52″ (five-blade) size, depending on how big of a room you need to cool down. Pricing between the two is pretty close: $149.99 or $159.99 so that shouldn’t be a barrier to choosing between the two. And actually, over on Amazon, there’s some nice discounts on right now that knock another $20-$25 off of the price. You can check them out here.
