It’s summertime, and the 4th of July is coming up. Along with fireworks and BBQs, that means another thing – a lot of brands are going to be coming up with sales and discounts. When those are interesting, we’ll bring them to your attention. For instance, we’ve got some nice discounts going on over at Biolite and Jack Wolfskin.
First up, let’s talk Biolite, as you should be familiar with the brand? Why is that? Well, simply put, we’ve reviewed and covered a number of their products at this point (you can see that all here). So, what do they have in store for you? From now until July 5, 2021, they’re running a 20% off discount, site-wide (the only exception is the FirePit). So, what could you net? For instance:
- CampStove 2 Complete Cook Kit: The Complete cook kit serves all of your backyard and backcountry grilling needs with a thermoelectric campstove (charges your phone + generates a small flame), boils water with the KettlePot, grills burgers and dogs with the Grilltop, and provides a small cooking light with the FlexLight. Sale Price: $191.96 $48 in savings
- HeadLamp 330: BioLite’s top-selling headlamp offers 330 lumens, SlimFit Technology for a no-bounce fit, and 4 different lighting modes. Sale Price: $47.96 $12 savings
The stove of course, that’s pretty self-explanatory. On the headlamp, will say the 330 is pretty versatile, particularly if you want (or need) a headlamp that’s not going to be bouncing all around as you’re going down a path.
Then again, maybe you’re set on cooking and lighting, and you’re looking for a different sort of outdoors gear? If that’s the case, then the 25% off sitewide code (SUMMER25) for Jack Wolfskin is where you can look next. As with Biolite, this is site wide, so there’s a lot of choices to be had. Here are a few different options, to give you a taste. First off, if you just want easy grab-and-go clothing, they’ve got something called their Pack and Go Collection – These are all about packability (and organization), as each item in the collection folds into it’s own stuff sack (also great for saving space). No matter the weather you’re headed into, you’re covered, since it’s got shorts, shirts, and even puffy jackets.
Even though that stuff packs light and small, sometimes you just need more space. Either you’re taking a LOT of gear, or stuff just isn’t that compressable. That’s where the Jack Wolfskin Expedition Trunk 65 would come into play. Being 65L capacity and waterproof, it’s going to be a lot more robust – and hold more – than whatever gym back you might have been thinking about using. It’s also got padded handles and backpack straps, so hauling it around shouldn’t be a chore. This can be had – during the sale – for $95.25.
If you want something that’s more for day hikes (and the stuff we wrote about from Gregory Packs is overkill), then perhaps the Jack Wolfskin Moab Jam 24 is what you’re looking for. Coming in at 24L, this won’t replace your true backcountry pack, but it should certainly hold whatever you need to keep yourself going on the trail, or even through the airport. If it’s the trail, then you’re setup with a pocket to put your hydration bladder in, and it’s even got some stuff in place to help support the load you’re carrying while still getting some airflow to your back. Coming in at $76.50 (again, with the discount), it’s coming in at a very reasonable pricepoint between the backpack you might have for day-to-day (or even work) and a long-haul internal frame one.
And there you have it – the first hit of what could be a flood of Independence Day deals. Check ’em out, and if you run across some and want to tell us about it, feel free to drop us a line.
