Apple has announced that it plans to increase ad placements on its platforms, most notably across the App Store, as the holiday season approaches.
The news was broken as a number of mobile app developers were approached via email about an increased availability of ad spots to promote their games in.
The message states “With new opportunities coming to Apple Search Ads, you can promote your apps across the App Store to engage even more customers this holiday season,”, according to the mobile app developer Eric Seufert to CNBC.
The holiday season is the single most profitable fiscal period for virtually all advertising companies, and Apple seems to want to bolster revenues for this year’s holiday season, likely an attempt to increase revenues as consumers buy less and less products as a result from the ongoing recession.
