Even as Facebook and its attendent services – Whatsapp, Instagram, and others – face a severe outage apparently due to DNS issues, Disclose.tv is reporting that the social media juggernaut spilled 1.5 billion records in a breach that could be one of the biggest in history.
“JUST IN – Data of over 1.5 billion Facebook users is being sold on a popular hacking-related forum. Data contains users’ names, emails, phone numbers, locations, gender, and user ID,” writes Disclose.tv.
Facebook has been dealing with almost limitless setbacks this month as the Wall Street Journal and others began to explore the dying social media app’s future and sketchy past. We are still confirming that this hack is current and not part of another breach that leaked data earlier this year.
