Wacom has launched its new line of pen input devices, the Wacom One, designed to cater to creative beginners, productivity enthusiasts, and anyone eager to explore the digital world with a pen.
The Wacom One series consists of the Wacom One S and M pen tablets and the Wacom One 12 and 13 touch pen displays. The pen displays, with 11.6″ and 13.3″ glass screens, boast a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 with 99% sRGB and low parallax, thanks to the optical bonding of the displays. This ensures greater control and precision. The Wacom One13 touch is the first in its category to offer 10-finger multi-touch gestures, adding a new layer of intuitive interaction.
The Wacom One S and M pen tablets are the first entry-level devices to support 4K pressure sensitivity and tilt for calligraphy effects. The pens, available in various colors, feature two side switches for increased productivity. The shared Wacom UD pen technology ensures compatibility with Wacom-enabled pens from renowned brands like Staedtler, LAMY, Kaweco, and Dr. Grip, marking an industry first in the pen tablet segment. The Wacom One series is versatile and compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, and ChromeOS. Connection is often as simple as plug and play via a USB-C cable, with optional HDMI cables available. The added Bluetooth connectivity for the Wacom One S and M tablets, along with their slim design and lightweight, make these devices highly portable. Beyond just pen devices, Wacom One also offers the Wacom Adventure Program. This comprehensive guide, complete with over a hundred videos and tutorials, provides inspirational content and fun activities for creative beginners and productivity seekers. It also includes access to 16 software titles for various creative and non-creative fields.
Faik Karaoglu, Executive Vice President of Wacom’s Branded Business Unit, stated, “The Wacom One product line is a gateway to the world of digital art, creativity, and productivity. Our goal is to make it easier than ever for artists and new users to start their journey.”
In terms of sustainability, the Wacom One pen tablets and displays are the most sustainable products Wacom has offered to date. They have reduced or replaced petroleum-derived plastics with Polylactic acid bioplastic material (PLA) and increased the use of post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR) to approx. 30-65% of the products’ plastic materials. The minimized footprint and packaging reduce the impact of transport and logistics, while the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper material and flexographic printing with organic and water-based ink makes the packaging more sustainable.
The Wacom One series will be available this August on the Wacom eStore and select resellers. The Wacom eStore also offers customers the option to purchase the display or tablet only and select accessories as needed, reducing cost and e-waste.
