Over on WristWatchReview, we’ve written about Versace a number of times. Those, of course, were their watches. Versace is a luxury fashion brand, so it shouldn’t be any surprise that they’ve got other offerings. Today, we’re going to talk about a new pair of pens that they’re releasing later this month, the Versace Honos and Reve.
Versace Honos
The Versace Honos looks like the sort of pen that I picture when some talks about a nice pen. It’s got that vintage-style black resin barrel, which looks all the world to be a fountain pen. Then you uncap it, and you see that no, it’s a roller-ball pen. That cap, that’s where some intricacy comes in. You have the geometric patterns repeating across it as well as – you guessed it – the Medusa head on the end of the cap. As you can see from the specs down below, there are a number of finishes that you’ll be able to choose from as well.
Versace Reve
On the other hand, if you would prefer an all-metal body (rather than the resin of the Versace Honos), then there’s the Versace Reve. This takes that pattern that is on the cap of the Honos, and extends it to the full body of the pen. Here, of course, you don’t have a cap you’ll be posting; instead, you’ll give the barrel a twist to extend the ballpoint insert. As with the Honos, there are all also a number of finishes available (see below).
Wrapping things up
While I would have liked to have seen gel-ink inserts used in the pens (since I’m a lefty), there’s no denying that these new pens do offer some visual – and likely literal – heft. The new Versace Honos and Reve will be available later this month (September 24th), with pricing ranging from $290 – $380.
