The Clckr is the MagSafe stand and grip you didn’t know you needed

When I first saw the Clckr I wasn’t impressed. I remembered with deep revulsion the PopSocket – those nodule-like outgrowths that hung from the back of our phones circa 2015 – and saw this as an offshoot of that.

But this ain’t that. The Clckr is a foldable grip and stand that snaps flush with your device and unclicks when needed. To turn the Clckr into a stand you fold the whole thing out and click the top part into a pair of rails. A longer end bends out to create a triangular stand. You can also pull out the whole thing to create a strap for the phone, preventing it from dashing off into the Grand Canyon should you drop it.

The Clckr connects to your iPhone via the MagSafe surfaces on the back. The entire package is quite slim and unobtrusive and easily removable when necessary. This is obviously something that gives me pause when I think about using this as a last line of defense against gravity. That said, I haven’t noticed any situations where this thing has fallen off.

The Clckr costs $14.99 online and comes in multiple colors. As I noted before, I was never one to add an appendage to my phone but this clever little device is worth a look if you travel or create with your iPhone. Just don’t buy a PopSocket.
