Sound engineer Axel Grell releases his first wireless headphones, the TWS/1

German headphone engineer Axel Grell has launched a new line of wireless headphones called the grell TWS/1. The in-ear headphones offer higher-end sound for about $199.

Grell is a well-known European headphone designer and this is one of his first ANC headphones. The headphones support multiple codecs including SBC and AAC, LHDC, aptX, aptX HD, and aptX adaptive.

Grell is the creator of Sennheiser’s HD580 and HD800 headphones and left the company to start a new audiophile-focused headphone brand. Grell will sell the TWS/1 earbuds online and through Drop. They will ship in November. You can check out the product page here.

From the release:

Unlike any of the designer’s earlier endeavors, however, Grell seeks with its business model to lower the cost for the end-user, ushering in the future of high-res audio through a sales model tailored towards the spending habits of digital age looking for opportunities to save money on high-end products without sacrificing quality for price. Sold directly through the company’s website and through an exclusive pre-order release on Drop.com, Grell’s online-only sales model seeks to remove some of the economic barrier-to-entry for budding audiophiles, and to nurture the next generation of sound for tomorrow’s listener.
