Safari Pedals Zebra Clipper: now available

Safari Pedals Zebra Clipper

If you’re like me, and you see a company called Safari Pedals, you’re thinking, ok, this is going to be some sort of a stomp box that gets wired in and lets you setup different effects on what your guitar is sounding like. In this case, you’d be partially correct. You see, Safari Pedals is more of a software company, selling a wide variety of plug-ins that run on Windows or Mac to help you get that precise sound for your mix. Their most recent drop is the Safari Pedals Zebra Clipper.

Safari Pedals Zebra Clipper: what it is

I’ll say it right up front – I am not a sound engineer or producer. So, we’ve got this handy video that explains what a clipper does, and how Safari Pedals goes about doing it:

What you can control

He went through it all on the video, but here’s a handy quick list of all of the things you can fiddle with:

  • In/Out Control: Take charge of your input and output levels, giving you total control over your signal chain and how much clipping is applied.
  • 3 Clipping Styles: Choose between Analog for vintage warmth, Modern for precise digital clipping, or Round for smooth saturation that tames harsh peaks while preserving natural tone.
  • Sub Boost Knob: Enhance the low-end presence by adding extra punch and depth to your bass frequencies without muddying up your mix.
  • Mojo Knob: Inject some magic with a touch of harmonic enhancement, adding richness and character to your sound for that extra wow factor.
  • Clip Amount Control: Set the intensity of the clipping, from gentle harmonic distortion to bold, aggressive saturation.
  • Drive Knob: Push your signal harder and reveal hidden harmonic details, adding warmth and grit to your tracks.
  • Mix Control: Blend your clipped signal with the original dry sound to find the perfect balance of distortion and clarity.
