If you’ve been looking into various supplements to help boost your health, you have options galore. You can opt for those in a powder form that you mix with milk or water (like these that we’ve reviewed), or they can be in the form of a capsule that’s a bit more like a vitamin. For today’s review, we’ve got both types coming at you from the team over at Roundhouse Provisions.
Roundhouse… Provisions?
When you hear that word, you’re thinking of an action that happens inside a fighting ring or on the mats, right? Or, maybe, just maybe, a domicile that breaks the convention of all right angles, all the time. Turns out, there’s a very good reason for the name, and it does come from a roundhouse kick. The person endorsing this health supplement is none other than Chuck Norris. We’re not going to say that this will let you kick higher than your head (unless you already could), but we’ve not seen Mr. Norris endorsing a lot of products, so it would seem that he stands behind the product.
Roundhouse Provisions Morning Kick
Over the years, I’ve tried out a variety of different “greens” powder mixes. If nothing else, it’s a quick and easy way to get some of that healty goodness from plants and veggies into your body. Most of the time, the taste of those mixes leaves a good deal to be desired. With Morning Kick, though, Roundhouse addresses it with a bit of cognitive dissonance. To do that, they’ve gone with a Strawberry Lemonade flavor. For something that isn’t lemonade, it’s actually done pretty well. Where it trips up your mind (or at least it did mine) is the fact that you’ve got a rich green-colored drink that tastes like strawberry lemonade. So, yeah, it’s a bit trippy.
For all the stuff that is in the mix, check out that third image in the carousel up above. You’ll see that you’ve got some of the standard stuff you’d expect from a greens mix (kale, wheat grass, and so on), but then you also have some stuff that you might not expect, like a probiotic blend (to keep your digestive system working) and some fiber add-ins to keep you regular.
Does it work?
That’s the question, and we most certainly did not do any sort of controlled experiment. That said, I felt just fine while I was using the Morning Kick mix. Another thing we’ll note, is just how well the powder mixed in water. Sure, you could use a shaker bottle to mix it up, but we found just stirring it up with a spoon worked just as well. Now, for the anecdotal bit of the review. While I was testing out the mix, one of my kids ended up coming down with a cold. I wouldn’t say that I completely avoided it, but all I had was a slight tickle in my throat, rather than the full-blown thing. It could have been due to other things that I take, but I think a greens mix like this – particularly if you’re not getting your daily dose of veggies – can certainly help keep you going.
Three Hit Combo
Not everyone wants to deal with mixing up a beverage, or perhaps just wants something to add to their current supplement mix. If that’s you, then there’s the Roundhouse Provisions Three Hit Combo. I’m guessing that’s a martial arts term, but here, it’s also referring to the major components of the supplement. Here, it’s a combo of gynostemma (for energy and focus), berberine (to help burn fat), and quercetin (to counteract stress and aging). I worked through the bottle that they sent for the review, and I can’t say as I had any noticeable changes in those three areas. Then again, these could be more of a subtle impact, so you’ll need to decide what makes sense for you.
Wrapping things up
As with anything you do for your health, you’ll need to make sure what you’re doing – and what you’re ingesting – makes sense for what you’re trying to achieve, and what works well with your system. If what Roundhouse Provisions is offering up sounds good to you, and fits your needs, let’s talk pricing. Many supplement companies are trying to get things to subscriptions, and Roundhouse has a softer approach to that. For either the greens or the capsules, their standard price is $79.95 for a jar or bottle. However, if you sign up for a free account, the price drops to $49.95. That’s certainly not inexpensive for a month’s supply, but it does seem in-range for some other health supplements we’ve seen as of late.
