Even though it sometimes raises eyebrows (and questions) at the office, I always carry a pocket knife with me. I don’t view it as a weapon (as some may), but as a tool that I’m always happy I have with me. To be sure, when I’m not camping or hiking, the blade most often gets used to open packages or break down boxes. Which means a sub-2″ knife like the NanoMax Titanium EDC Knife is going to be great for every day.
What we like about the NanoMax Titanium EDC Knife
First off, we like the size. Closed, it’s 2.71″, or about the same length as a standard house key. Add in that you’ve got a 2.09″ length blade, and this is a very compact knife, the sort that would easily disappear into a coin pocket, or even on your keychain. Oh, and it only weighs in a 1.87 oz (53g), courtesy of the titanium construction used, and it has a liner lock to keep things safe. It’s not all titanium, however. The blade here is M390 steel, which is having quite a popular run in the knife world at the moment.
One more trick
Finally, the NanoMax Titanium EDC Knife comes pre-built ready to accept one of the greatest illumination marker technologies we know of – tritium tubes. That’s right, just like we saw on these knives. You’ve got a choice of where to put them on the scales as well. Now, the tricky thing is, where do you get those tritium tubes? Pretty slick, as you’ll be able to get a pair of tritium tubes (or, for less, a pair of glow tubes) as an add-on for the campaign.
Wrapping things up
If you want to get the NanoMax Titanium EDC Knife, you’ll need to move quick, as the campaign closes out in just a few days on January 16, 2025. While this is their first crowdfunding campaign, this one has really taken off, and is well over-funded. You can still get in on super early bird pricing at HK$ 619 (which is about $80). There are a number of add-ons as well. For the tritium tubes, those are HK $235, while the glow tubes are HK $63. Shipping is anticipated for April 2025, so you’ll be set for spring. kickstarter.com
