McIntosh announces two new streaming speakers

McIntosh, an audiophile-focused gear maker famous for their glowing green logo, has announced two new wireless speakers, the RS150 and RS250. Both feature the traditional McIntosh (digital) glowing needle readout and support Bluetooth and WiFi.

The RS150 is a mono speaker aimed at the entry-level McIntosh love. It suppress 90 Watts of power output and connects directly to streaming services. It includes bass control and can be paired with another speaker for stereo sound. The RS250 is a stereo sound bar with dedicated phono input and HDMI ARC input for TV support. It can blast out 650 Watts of power.

The RS150 costs $1,200 each while the RS250 costs $3,000. It’s obvious that these things are aimed at a decidedly higher-end crowd. The speakers can work together wirelessly and can stream via Spotify, TIDAL, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Chromecast, and Roon.

The devices will be available in Q1 2022.
