If so, we had a some news come in of a few different devices that may be of benefit to you. Both the BrightHealth Light Therapy Lamp and the Guru Nanda Halo diffuser could certainly help you out in the cold and dark winter months.
At first, the BrightHealth Light Therapy Lamp looks like just any other table or bedside lamp, a slender cylinder that is just over a foot tall. However, it’s stated purpose is to help those who are impacted by Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Most commonly associated with the winter months (when the days are short and the nights are long), there is also a variant that occurs more in the spring time as well. Whatever the season, this lamp emits light all around, can output at four different brightness levels (maxes out at 10,000 LUX), and has an adjustable temperature setting. We’ve not tried it ourselves, but given that the lamp comes in at a discounted $99, it’s a relatively low price to try for a non-medication solution. It can be found over at brighthealththerapy.com
On the other hand, if you’re dealing with dry air (which dries out your skin and nose) or just the stuffy odors of a room that can’t have it’s windows open (due to it being crazy cold out there) you might be looking at a humidifier or diffuser. For that, we came across the Guru Nanda Halo. First and foremost, this is an ultrasonic vaporizer that can run for up to 22 hours (as it as a 2.2L reservoir). So, that’s getting moisture into your dry air. Want to add some scents to that? This also acts as a diffuser for your favorite essential oils, which can certainly freshen up a room. Again, we’ve not seen this one in person, but I have used diffusers with a similar function, and they’re a compact way to bring moisture to a room. Currently it’s on discount for $60 directly from Guru Nanda or $52 from Amazon.
And that’s it – quick and simple. We are looking into getting samples of these in to test out, of course. In the meantime, if you’ve got a SAD therapy light or humidifier that you particularly like, feel free to drop us a line and let us know.
