Kiss My Face Shave Lotion: In Review

That’s right, my fellow Knapsackers – even though this fellow has a beard, there’s still shaving that needs to be done. While I tend towards the traditional DE razor and shave soap, there are times where shave lotions are the path I go. As part of exploring what’s out there, we checked out two options from the Kiss My Face Shave Lotion line.

What is it?

Well, friend, the Kiss My Face Shave Lotion is a shave lotion that helps you along with your shaving, in that you’re not building up a lather. In fact, you don’t even need to have a shave brush. You can pump it out of the bottle (just like with soap or lotion) onto your hands, and then you apply it to your neck and face, and away you go. However, if you have a shave brush handy, I found that it actually performed a bit better. It’s not going to build as thick of a later as a shave soap will, the brush just help sort of whip it up a bit more, giving you a better shave than if you just apply it to your skin using your fingers.

How well does it work?

As compared to any other sort of pre-packaged shave lotion, I found the Kiss My Face Shave Lotion to work quite well. As with most lotions of this type, you’ll need to work a little bit more to clean it out of your razor, be it a DE or a cartridge style (I used both in this testing). That’s just due to how they’re made, and is part of what you should expect.

In terms of shave performance, again, it worked quite well. I didn’t end up with any unexpected cuts or irritation, and when I used it with the cartridge razor, I actually got one of the closest, smoothest shaves on my neck that I’ve had as of late. While the bottles call out that they’re moisturizing, I found you’re still going to want to put some sort of aftershave lotion on to replenish the skin.

Should you get it?

If you’re on the hunt for a quick and easy shave lotion to use (for your face or anywhere on your body), it would be hard to argue against giving the Kiss My Face Shave Lotion. I found that it worked well, and it’s actually pretty economical for the amount that you get. The Kiss My Face Shave Lotion is available in three scents (plus unscented), and the 11 fl oz bottle comes in at a very reasonable $9.99.
