Just Announced: AnkerWork B600 Video Bar

You know me – I’ve quickly become a fan of the offerings from Anker, and as of late have been taking a look at more items from their work-oriented lineup. With the work-from-home scenarios not looking like they’re going to change anytime soon, this new AnkerWork B600 Video Bar should have some folks interested.

Right up front, we don’t have a lot of details on the AnkerWork B600 Video Bar, which is supposed to be available to purchase on January 25th. As far as a video camera goes, it offers a 2K resolution, which is no doubt crisper than anything built into your laptop screen. The big selling point here, though, is the built-in light bar. This is diffused, and you can control the brightness via a touch slider (to the right of the camera lens), as well as further adjustments (temperature, etc) in the AnkerWork app.

The AnkerWork B600 Video Bar also packs in a mic (if you don’t have one setup already) as well as a speaker. In other words, this can be an all-in-one video conferencing solution driven from a single cable, which ain’t half bad. For us, that built-in lighting is the most intriguing, as we all know getting decent lighting for work calls is more than half the struggle. It also looks like the lighting portion can fold down (or slide down?) over the lens, giving you that additional layer of privacy when you want it.

Right now, the MSRP on the AnkerWork B600 Video Bar is $219.99 which makes it more expensive than some of the 4K webcam options, but the lighting inclusion should make it well worth it. Then again, if you head over to the AnkerWork site (link), you can stake your claim with $1 today to get a price of $184.99. We’ve reached out to the brand for more info, and of course to see if we can get a review unit in. ankerwork.com
