Introducing: Nathan Sports Polarized Running Sunglasses

In my world, polarized sunglasses are definitely the way to go. I’ve given up on ever finding any sunglasses that look as dark as the ones you see folks wear in shows and movies. And really, something tinted that dark would just make seeing things difficult. Polarized lens, on the other hand, those cut down on the glare without drastically reducing your ability to see what’s going on around you (you can read more about how those work here). One of the latest we’ve been introduced to is the brand Nathan.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit – this almost-Wayfarer style of sunglasses is not what I’d think of for running (I tend to rely on ones that are a bit more wrap around), but unless you’re an elite runner (which I most certainly am not) you’re not going fast enough that you’d need to worry about the breeze getting around these and hitting your eyes, you know?

So, along with the polarized lenses (and the polarization is part of the lens material, and not a film, so it won’t scratch off), the frames are made of a flexible and lightweight material known as TR90 (more about that here). Seems like it gives you the look of an acetate frame, but in a super light and extremely break-resistant package. In other words, all good things for sunglasses you’re going to be active with.

For this new range from Nathan Sports, there are four styles available – the Adventure BlackSunrise TortoiseSummit Gray and Summit Clear All four of these feature the same specs and pricing ($50) so it’s really a matter of the style you prefer for your face. We’ve got a pair on the way in, and we’ll let you know how they are in the real world real soon. nathansports.com
