Introducing: 1More Comfobuds Mini

When it comes to headphones and earbuds, these days I am all about active noise cancellation (ANC). Sure, you can get a decent amount of noise blockage from over-ear headphones or foam eartips, but if you want to be really complete, you need some mics and processing happening. One of the most recent and lightest releases would be the 1More Comfobuds Mini.

With the 1More Comfobuds, you can tell the primary design mission was to keep these small (per their materials, they’re smaller than a marble) which also nets us a fairly light design – each bud is just 3.7g. Small shells mean small batteries, but battery life is reasonable. With ANC on, you’ve got 5 hours of playback; turning ANC off adds an hour. Paired with the charging case, you can get up to 24 hours of playback, which isn’t too shabby.

For being so small, the 1More Comfobuds Mini look like they should pack a noise-cancelling punch. At it’s most aggressive setting, it can knock 40dB off of the surroundings, which will be very noticeable. There are other settings that can let you hear some of your surroundings, and even a transparency mode that transmit the outside sounds right to you.

The 1More Comfobuds Mini also look like they’ve got a decent sound profile for their diminutive size. While it comes out of the box tuned, you can also tune it to your own hearing profile. If it acts like I’ve experienced it on other earbuds, it should be basically doing a hearing test to figure out what range of sounds you can detect, and then setting the profile to accommodate that.

Given the lighter weight, the 1More Comfobuds Mini seem like a good fit for exercise. They’re not calling out water resistance, though, so you might want to be careful there. Still, the fact that it’s even able to filter out wind noise (say, when you’re on your bike) I think these would be good for some fair-weather usage.
