Golf smartwach maker deWiz closes Series B funding round

deWiz AB has closed a $4 million investment round to build out the company’s wearable swing sensor designed to help golfers improve their game. The cash will go to “additional marketing, further global expansion, continued product development, and added staffing to support further growth,” according to a release.

The round was led by the original investors as well as Patrick Rees, founder of Bygghemma, Vijay Singh, and Annika Sörenstam.

“Matching our Series-A funding round last year, it’s a testament of deWiz’s potential with this fundraising effort countering the global economic and geopolitical headwinds and expanding the scope of our investors group,” said Christian Bergh, cofounder and CEO, deWiz AB. “As we continue to grow, we’re establishing a U.S.-based investment entity and opening up new markets, both for our golf technology globally, as well as new technology solutions for other sports and industries for our patented approaches within wearable tech.”

The company makes a smartwatch that can sense your golf stroke and give feedback/modifications in real-time. The watch costs $699 and connects to an app that shows your stroke and potential improvements.
