Get out on the water – even in the winter?

Hey, if the water isn’t frozen, who’s to say you’re not able to go out on the water? Yes, you’re going to need to make sure you’ve got the right sort of cold weather gear, likely including a dry suit of some sort. What about what you’re carrying stuff in, or even the board you’re on? Not to worry, Bote has options that can help you (and your gear) stay high and dry.

Highwater Backpack

If it comes to bad weather, a waterproof backpack is never a bad idea. If you’re purposely going out on the water, then a waterproof back is a must to keep everything (like, say, your lunch) nice and dry. The $250 Highwater Backpack can do that via double-sided TPU coating, seam-welded construction, and even fully-waterproof zippers. It will hold up to 28L of stuff, and right now, some of the styles are marked down to $215.

Rackham Aero Board

The Rackham Aero is a inflatable paddleboard that, with it’s recessed deck and integrated seating, helps you get through the water without necessarily getting the water on you. This is a board that can handle up to 400 pounds, so you and whatever gear you’re hauling should be no problem for it. Pricing on smaller lengths starts at $1299 (before discount, of which most look to be 15% off right now), and go up from there for the longer lengths or other packages.

Deus Aero

Now, if you’re like me, the idea of a paddleboard – even if it does have a seat so you don’t have to stand – sounds a bit iffy, then you might be more interested in the Deus Aero. What’s neat about this is that it’s primarily an inflatable kayak, but you are able to transform it into a standup paddleboard if you want to. With the current discounts, you can get this one for just a hair over $1000.

Flotation devices

No matter the season, if you’re heading out on the water, some sort of floatation device is just a plain smart idea for staying safe. Of course, Bote has plenty of options in that category, from the Inflatable Belt PFD, the Fishing Foam PFD Vest, and the Paddling Foam PFD Vest; pricing starts at $89 and up.
