Axie Infinity Targeted in $600 Million Hack

The blockchain videogame provider recently lost over $600 Million worth of cryptocurrencies in a validator hack.

The hack occurred through Ronin Network, which is the Ethereum-linked sidechain used as a middleman between Axie Infinity and the Blockchain it runs beside. The hack reportedly occurred after a malicious party gained access to important validator nodes, allowing themselves to allegedly withdraw 173,600 ETH and 25.5M USDC, which is, at the time of writing, worth approximately $608.5 million USD.
